DILLON — Fire managers report that the Bear Creek Fire burning southwest of Dillon has reached 85% containment.
There are currently 46 total personnel assigned to the 11,900-acre fire and the demobilization of resources and equipment no longer needed is continuing.
The fire has been burning in the Lemhi Pass area about 30 miles east of Salmon, Idaho, since Aug. 11.
Crews are now focusing efforts on mopping-up and rehabilitation, pulling back berms and smoothing out the constructed firelines and back-hauling equipment and supplies no longer needed.
The Lemhi Pass Road has been reopened to the public. However, some area closures are still in effect.
