KALISPELL – Police are investigating an accident that sent a pedestrian to the hospital on Thursday evening.
Authorities were called to a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian near First Avenue West and First Street West shortly before 8:15 p.m. on Thursday.
The driver of a burgundy colored minivan had reportedly left the scene after striking the victim who was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center with what are described as serious injuries.
The driver of the van contacted Kalispell Police shortly after the accident and was questioned and released with no charges were filed at this time, according to a news release.
An investigation into the incident is continuing and anyone with information is asked to contact Detective David Massie at (406) 758-7795.
