GLACIER NATIONAL PARK – Glacier National Park has released a new story map detailing the wildfire that nearly destroyed the Sperry Chalet in 2017.
The lightning-caused Sprague Fire started the evening of August 10, 2107 and eventually burned nearly 17,000 acres.

The multi-media story map includes a detailed timeline of the fire and its impact on the surrounding land and structures.
The Sperry Chalet is undergoing reconstruction and is expected to completed by December of 2019.
