KALISPELL – In 2016, Flathead High School was approved for a $10 million bond aimed at crucial renovations for the high school.

Once approved, the construction was underway, knocking down the old gym. Some of the old parts of the building that were knocked down were from 1910.

We spoke with Kalispell Superintendent Mark Flatau who tells us the construction is on time and on budget.

The new addition will have a gym and eighteen flexible learning spaces.

This new addition comes just in time for Flathead High School’s drastic enrollment increase.

“This addition to the Flathead will expand the population a bit in regards to capacity of that building, but more importantly it’s addressing some needed learning spaces and some needed deferred maintenance.”

The construction is expected to be completed in time for school to start this coming fall.
