KALISPELL – Fire crews battled a fire at a Kalispell motel late Friday night.
The Kalispell Fire Department was called out to 640 East Idaho Street shortly after 11:30 p.m. for reports of smoke in a motel room
Kalispell Fire Chief Dave Dedman says crews arrived at the Blue and White Motel to find “moderate smoke and fire activity” in the attic space of the multi-unit facility.

A first alarm commercial structure fire was requested as crews worked to contain the fire to the attic space. The blaze was extinguished after access was gained to the attic area.
No injuries have been reported from this incident and Dedman says a preliminary investigation found the cause to be accidental and electrical in origin.
Some guests were displaced because of the fire.
The Kalispell and Evergreen fire departments along with the Kalispell Police Department, Flathead Electric Cooperative and NorthWestern Energy all responded to the scene.
