GLACIER NATIONAL PARK – Spring plowing continues for the famed Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park.

Park officials wrote that road crews have reached Swede Point and Sunrift Gorge.

The section of the scenic road between Lake McDonald Lodge and Rising Sun is closed due to plowing.

Visitors can still drive 11.5 miles from the West Entrance to Lake McDonald Lodge, however, as well as 5.5 miles from the St. Mary Entrance to Rising Sun.

GNP reported that due to the start of plowing operations, a hiker/biker closure sign is located on the west side at Avalanche, 6 miles past the vehicle closure.

On the east side, the hiker biker closure is at Rising Sun, the vehicle closure. There is no access past these points while the road crew is working.
