KALISPELL – Glacier Park International Airport expanded the Flathead Valley’s accessibility as the inaugural flight from Dallas Texas arrived in Kalispell.

Airport Director Rob Ratkowski told MTN News that at the height of the 2019 tourist season the airport will be very busy.

Ratkowski says it’s the popularity of the Flathead Valley that’s forced the airport to look into more flight options for visitors around the country.

He added the inaugural flight from Dallas to Kalispell shows how much Glacier International Airport is expanding this accessibility.

“Dallas is a new market for us, but we know it’s strong just based on the booking numbers. And so, the more connectivity we can have, direct to any of the hubs just improves the ability for people to get to and from Kalispell,” Ratkowski said.

He also told MTN News that the airport’s next step is a multimillion-dollar terminal expansion in the spring or fall of 2020 which will be crucial for the increase in passengers.

With the popularity of the Flathead Valley this year, Ratkowski suggests visitors get to the airport in plenty of time to allow enough time to get through security and long lines.
