HUNGRY HORSE  – Flathead County Sheriff’s Office deputies are on extra patrol this July 4th, even utilizing a mobile jail for arrests in the Hungry Horse Boulevard area.

According to the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office, Hungry Horse on the Fourth of July has historically been a popular place for pedestrians to gather and deploy fireworks.

While the Sheriff’s Office encourages celebrations, recent criminal activity and dangerous situations require extra patrol to be present.

This year the Sheriff’s Office is maximizing staff and barriers will be placed on Hungry Horse Boulevard for the safety of pedestrian traffic.

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office will enforce a no tolerance policy if fireworks are mishandled and break laws.
