BIGFORK — Flathead County Sheriff Brian Heino told MTN that it all started around 7 o'clock Tuesday morning when a male reported his truck stolen near Glacier Park International Airport.

Sheriff Heino explained to MTN That law enforcement found the vehicle in the Evergreen area, with a female driver, identified as Awndry Lynn Francisco inside who was not the owner.

He said, that's when a high speed chase started, which ended in downtown Bigfork and that's when shots were fired.

He explained to MTN that right now, those details of who shot first are not being released and how important it is to proceed with caution when working cases like these.

"Many agencies were involved, Montana Highway Patrol, Kalispell Police Department," said Sheriff Heino. "Totality, especially when you're dealing with incident of pursuit and then essentially we had communications with the driver and stopped there and that's when shots were fired."

Sheriff Heino explained that Francisco was arrested and interviewed and is now in the Flathead County Detention Center.

This incident is still under investigation.
