MISSOULA — The family of a young girl who was hit by a vehicle as she was exiting a school bus, say they are devastated after a MRI revealed the 6-year-old girl has widespread brain damage.

Jordana Hubble’s aunt says in a Facebook post that her niece’s brain damage is widespread. Her neurologist described it as extreme Shaken Baby Syndrome. Its technical name is Diffuse Axonal Injury.

Her aunt says if Jordana wakes up, she will need long term care. An account has been set up at Whitefish Credit Union in Jordana’s name to help with medical care.

Jordana was struck by a vehicle while attempting to exit her school bus and cross US Highway 93 near Olney on Nov. 12 after a driver failed to yield to a stop sign on a school bus.

Charges are still pending against the driver as authorities wait for toxicology results and continue investigating. The driver's name has not yet been released.
