Big Brothers Big Sisters began their signature Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraiser in Helena.

This year’s theme is “Famous Duos & Amazing Matches.” Participants were encouraged to attend the cosmic bowling event dressed as their favorite pairs from history, literature or Hollywood. Cash prizes were awarded to individuals and pairs with the best costumes.

In 2019, the organization raised over $60,000 in the event. Big Brothers Big Sisters depend on grants and donations from businesses and individuals to continue their program. Each dollar made in this bowling event will go back into the mentoring program to support the youth in our community.

“We’re giving back to the community, we’re helping the children that are facing adversity, to be able to move forward, graduate from high school, hopefully avoid alcohol and drugs, and become amazing individuals. We are here to defend the potential of our children,” says Melinda White, the Big Brothers Big Sisters Treasurer.

The bowling event in Helena will be from January 24-26. Then, the organization will host another bowling fundraiser in Great Falls on February 22-23.

Big Brothers Big Sisters are in need of 40 "Bigs" in Helena and Great Falls. A "Big" is a volunteer mentor, ages 18+. Their duty is to positively impact a young person, to be a role model to a "Little."
