MISSOULA — The gymnasium of Big Sky High School was full of holiday cheer Friday afternoon -- not just for their holiday assembly, but because it was the announcement of the 2019-2020 High School Educator of the Year award.
The award was given to English teacher Amy Miller who was given $1,000 to use as she pleases. Miller was appreciative to her students for nominating her and for the help from her family and husband.
“I couldn’t do this without you, I couldn’t do this with Mike, and I couldn’t do this without my family, being an eagle is really important to me and I love all of you very much,” said Miller
All award selections are made by the Missoula Education Foundation Student Board, comprised of high school students from across the district. The MEF Student board has been selecting teachers from all grade levels to be recognized as outstanding educators for 11 years.
