MISSOULA — The Goodfellows Club in Missoula has provided free Thanksgiving dinners to those in the community in need for 70 years.
Fuddruckers has usually provided the facility, and offered their services in distributing nearly 500 Thanksgiving Day meals, but with the restaurant's closure, Goodfellows has been forced to cancel this year’s Thanksgiving Day event.
“We’ve been so fortunate with contributions that help support the organization annually,” says member John Giuliani.
Giuliani says the organization is disappointed in the turn of events, but says they are going to re-purpose this year’s community donations to another one of their annual deliveries.
“This year, since we’re not doing the Thanksgiving Meal, we’ll shift more resources to the Christmas Food Box delivery.” Says John Giuliani
The Christmas boxes usually include food and small toys for young children. Giuliani says the organization is searching for a location to distribute Thanksgiving dinners in future years.
