MISSOULA — A few years after the completion of the remodel of Trempers Shopping Center along Brooks Street in Missoula, building owners set their sights on remodeling the strip mall that sat adjacent to the main complex.
After two years of planning and demolition, the reconstruction of the new Kent Plaza is well on its way to completion.
Professional Real Estate of Montana broker, Paul Burow, says he’s expecting some tenants to be in place by the end of the summer.
“It’s going to look a lot different in a month than it does now," Burow said. "We’ll have windows in, and the outside shell will be a lot closer to being finished. We’re hoping to have people moving in by July or August of this year.”
The finished product will have space for up to 10 tenants. Burow says they are about 60 percent committed with a variety of businesses.
“We’re pleased with the mix of people that are going in there right now," Burow said. "Luckily, we have Zootown Laundry going in. We also have a really neat brewery going in called Odd Pitch, they specialize in sour beers. We have our fingers crossed on a restaurant that has another location out of town.”
Lumberjaxe Throwing Company will also be moving into the new facility.
The COVID-19 pandemic has slowed down the number of phone calls Burow has received in recent weeks but he’s confident the phased reduction of restrictions for businesses will bring an uptick in interest for the remaining suites.
“The people that are committed are still committed," Burow said. "The phone calls that we get now are people that, they’re serious about moving in, they’re not the tire kickers.”
Gyms and salons are included in that list of those with serious interest.
