MISSOULA — The countdown to Christmas is on, and part of gearing up for the holidays is, of course, finding the perfect Christmas tree. If you’re in the market for a real tree this year, the Missoula Lions Club has it covered.

The Missoula Lions Club has raised funds for sight, hearing, and dental programs through their annual Christmas tree sale since 1944.

Trees of various types and sizes in addition to tree stands and wreaths can be purchased at the Lions Club temporary Christmas headquarters on the Missoula County Fairgrounds.

Volunteers will even help trim and load your Christmas tree, and 100% of the profits will support local needs like eye screenings and glasses for kids in Missoula.

But if you’re still on the fence about whether to get a real tree, Lion Robert Phillips is confident he can convince you.

"Number one, a real tree smells a lot better, it also gives so much more of the feeling of Christmas, and if you buy your trees from the Lions, your dollar counts twice. Once for the tree and once for their charitable purpose.

The Lions Club Christmas tree sale is at the fairgrounds from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. daily until Dec. 15.
