MISSOULA — The Montana Food Back Network reports that approximately 10% of Montanans struggle with hunger -- a problem only made worse by COVID-19.

Once again KPAX and First Security Bank have teamed up for our annual holiday food drive to help keep our community fed.

We spoke with First Security Bank president and CEO Scott Burke about the bank’s commitment to this cause and how he hopes Missoulians can make a difference.

"Let’s reflect on this year that we all just experienced especially that last nine months. It amazes me, and it shouldn’t amaze me because I’ve seen it so many times, what a wonderful community that we have here that we operate within," Burke said.

"People are very caring, people are very giving. All I’m asking is that we continue to do that because what we’re talking about today is just the basic needs of what most people need and that’s making sure everybody has a meal on the table. And so open your hearts, I know you will, and thank you because this is a great place to live."

Non-perishable food items may be drooped off at any First Security Bank location in Missoula and monetary donations can be made here.
