MISSOULA — Saturday was paradise for the vinyl record community in Missoula, and on Sunday begins the Total record swap which has been an annual event for four years and this years event has a little extra crate digging for collectors.

On Saturday, the Roxy hosted a dollar record sale in the annex of their building.

Around 8 months ago a collector donated a large collection of records to Missoula’s historic movie theater.

The collection was so large that instead of moving it the collector decided it would be easier to just donate it to a great cause.

The collection spanned multiple decades and tons of genres everything from Country to Teen Pop to Rock and World Music

All the benefits from Saturday’s sales go towards the expansion of the Roxy into their annex which will add another screening room to the Hip Strip area theater.

"It was completely serendipitous the timing worked out that the demo was done for here and we can just kind of loaded the stuff in but this is the actual space that will become the Roxy annex so the build out that really begings next week. Its kind of fun so people have a chance to buy some cool records and also see where the new space will be cause we have a little bit of a job to do educating the people about what the Roxy annex actually is," said Mike Steinberg, Roxy Theater's Executive Director.

Sunday's Total record swap will still benefit the Roxy and doors open 9 am and runs till 3pm at the Missoula Senior Center.
