GREAT FALLS — A Missoula based organization that helps provide food to families is asking for donations during the COVID-19 pandemic to bring help to Montana Tribes.

In April, Essential Eats served the Northern Cheyenne, Crow, tribes of Fort Belknap, Rocky Boy and the Blackfeet Nation, but they told MTN News this summer is going to be different.

They're in need of funds to supply families having to practice social distancing with executive director Sara Wecker noting times have been hard.

"This is a very difficult time it's hard to ask people for money it's hard foundations are broke and a lot of people are asking for a lot of things," said Wecker. "And we are not really a big enough organization to compete we don't have all of that media because we are all volunteer we don't all that stuff together."

If you wish to donate, you can check out any Stockman Bank and ask for the account Essential Eats Distributes donation.
