Power outages continue to affect hundreds of customers on the eastern side of Flathead Lake and in the Swan Valley with downed trees and power lines reported.
Flathead Electric Cooperative is reporting that as of 3:50 p.m., just under 2,000 members were impacted by the outages, which are concentrated along highways 35 and 83.
The Montana Department of Transportation is advising local traffic only on Highway 35 as trees and utility lines are blocking the road.
According to Flathead Electric, high winds have caused significant damage and crews are responding, however, progress will be slow until the winds die down. The utility company has asked the public not to remove any trees as some of the lines are still energized.
High Wind Warnings are in effect for Polson, Flathead Lake, and the Flathead and Mission valleys until 11 p.m. Wednesday. Large, damaging waves are possible on the lake, according to the National Weather Service.
