MISSOULA – The Missoula Family YMCA will be offering free childcare services on Election Day.

The YMCA will offer free short-term childcare at 3000 South Russell Street from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m and is available for kids between six 6 months and 10 years old.

Parents may drop off children for a maximum of two hours while they vote and must bring some form of photo ID with them. Parents will also need to register their children and provide emergency contact information.

“The Y has a long, proud history of promoting civic engagement. It’s an essential part of our cause to strengthen communities,” Missoula Family YMCA CEO Heather Foster said in a news release.

“We know that one reason people may not vote is due to lack of childcare, and we want to ensure that those who want to are able to make their voices heard,” Foster added.
