MISSOULA – Coming soon to the Paxson Plaza across from the AMC theatre is a new DRAM Shop.
The original DRAM Shop downtown is a growler fill station that offers beers from out of state and local Montana brews on tap.
Jenny Baker and owner Zach Millar requested approval of the site in front of the Missoula City Council on Wednesday.
The new location would occupy the far west side of the building and the initial plans call for an outdoor patio.
DRAM has a location on Front Street downtown, but the opportunity to have a second shop on the south side of town was too good for the owner to pass up.
“In terms of opportunity for us to expand our business the city of Missoula seems to have opportunities at the south end of town and the northwest end of town on North Reserve,” DRAM shop co-owner Zach Millar.
“There’s large residential areas in both sections of the city, and in terms of us being able to find a commercial location that was viable the south end of town seemed to work a lot better,” Millar added. “And the overall character of it seemed to suit or business a little better.”
A public hearing on the proposal will be held on Monday, November 19.
