MISSOULA – Snow has been blowing through Missoula this weekend and folks are
out and about braving the cold.

Ice melt, traction sand, window scrapers  and snow shovels line the aisles at Ace Hardware
on Brooks Street in Missoula.

Assistant Manager Jessica Drew says the changing weather conditions have been funneling traffic to the store.

“It’s weird. It’s like every time it snows people have lost their shovel some time since the last
snow,” Drew said.

The shop displays ice and snow management items galore, but Drew says they also have things to help folks
enjoy the cold.

Big Sky High School senior Solange Holman was preparing for a busy day of sledding on Blue
Mountain with her family when we stopped by.

“There’s a really big jump up there that’s pretty fun, that makes you go fast — and it hurts. But it’s worth it,” Solange said.

Drew wanted to remind people to be careful and stay prepared for our winter weather.

“It can be pretty hard to get out around the roads in town, especially when we get a surprise
dump overnight. So coming in and being prepared ahead of time — when we do have a
forecast of even just a couple of inches,” Drew said.

“Because sometimes we do get more it’s great to have That shovel and the ice melt at home already so you don’t have to worry about trekking around town while the roads are bad,” she added.
