MISSOULA – Snow drifts are keeping tow trucks busy at Red’s Towing, especially in driveways and on back roads.

Office Manager Brittany Cowan told MTN News that at times waits have been three hours or more due to a high number of slide-offs, wrecks, or vehicles being pulled into ditches.

Cowan says it is important to give the dispatcher all of the information including exact location, how it happened, and how deep the snow is that the vehicle is stuck in.

She also stressed the importance of keeping a few items with you at all times, especially since wait times have been several hours.

“Carry a shovel with you if you can, carry warm clothes, carry water, carry food wherever you can to keep yourself out of that situation of where you’re putting yourself in danger.,” Cowan advised.

Over the last few days, most of Red’s Towing work has come just outside of Missoula where most roads have not been plowed.
