Missoula’s Opportunity Resources fights the battle against budget cuts

Posted

MISSOULA – Opportunity Resource in Missoula reports that on average they help 800 disabled adults a year.

Saturday night they hosted a fundraiser and saw around 350 people at the event.

They began the event four years ago and they never expected it to grow to this size.

After recent state budget cuts, Opportunity Resources was faced with a challenge, but say now things are looking up.

It was probably one of the hardest years of our 64 years. We’ve stabilized at this point and we’re trying to turn the corner again now and be able to fulfill everybody’s dreams,” said Opportunity Resources CEO Joshua Kendrick.

“Be able to help people find the jobs they want, the housing they want, the recreation they want,” he added.

All of the artwork on sale at the fundraiser was done by members of the group they serve.

KPAX was a sponsor for the event and our very own Dennis Bragg was the emcee.
