MISSOULA – The Missoula City Fire Department — along with other emergency crews — responded to a river rescue near the Madison Street bridge on Saturday evening.

The Missoula County 911 Center received reports of an individual wearing a wet suit entering the water.

Missoula City Fire search and rescue put jet skis in the water to search and the person was later found safe and had been recreating in the area.

Missoula Fire officials want to remind everyone to wear a life jacket when recreating in area rivers, especially this time of year when water is still flowing fast.
