MISSOULA — Officials have released the name of the man killed after an officer-involved shooting this weekend in Missoula.

It's a case now being investigated by the Division of Criminal Investigation.

34-year-old Missoula resident Jesse James Kale Brown was pronounced dead after Missoula Police Department officers say Brown attacked an officer while they were responding to a domestic disturbance. It all unfolded around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday in the 2300 block of Sherwood Lane.

The State Attorney General's office tells MTN News in a press release that officers told Brown multiple times to drop the knife he was holding. When he didn't, they used a taser to subdue him. Brown a then attacked one of the responding officers...who then shot him. Law enforcement attempted life-saving measures but Brown died on the scene.

MPD says that in order to not interfere with the investigation they have no comment at this time.
