CLINTON — A Clinton man died when his vehicle went out of control on an icy road and landed upside down in a creek.
Montana Highway Patrol Dispatch tells MTN News the 52-year-old man was driving north on Rock Creek Road near the Valley of the Moon Road near Clinton.
Missoula County Sheriff TJ McDermott reported on Tuesday morning that the victim has been identified as John A. Falch of Clinton.
Falch was attempting to drive around a curve, but due to the icy roads, he drove straight, flipping his vehicle upside down into a creek. He died at the scene.
MHP says speed, alcohol and drugs were not factors in this crash. Falch was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.
According to MHP's incidents report website, troopers arrived on the scene Monday just after 4 a.m. where they found Falch deceased.
MHP says it's still undetermined when the crash actually happened, and the incident remains under investigation.
