MISSOULA — A new doughnut shop in Missoula is shaking up the way we see the delicious treats.
“We're Veera -- plant based donuts and we have...donuts, gluten free options, chowders, breakfast sandwiches, all vegan all natural, we buy local," employee Abbey Ostheimer explained.
Owner Haniah Sweeney, is in the shop most nights from 6 p.m. until 6 a.m. The Missoula native -- who has been vegan for six years -- uses vegan, non-GMO, and organic ingredients.
Sweeney has been selling her creations at various farmers markets for two years. But when she opened her shop she went from making 50 to 100 donuts on the weekends to making 400 to 1,000 every day. But if you want to try one, you'll have to show up early.
“Its been so busy. I mean we’ve sold out at the farmers market at like 11. We always sell out. Even yesterday we sold out at probably I think 4:30 -- we were done. So, we just have to put a sign up and say sorry we’ll see you tomorrow," Ostheimer said.
Sweeney, decided Missoula was the perfect place for her shop when she sold out at the Clark Fork Market within an hour of setting up her stand.
Veera Donuts is located on the Hip Strip at 617 South Higgins. The store is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
