Finalists for Frenchtown School District superintendent being interviewed

FRENCHTOWN — The public is being invited to meet the finalists for Frenchtown School District superintendent.

Interviews are being held on Wednesday with the candidates meeting with teachers, staff, and the public before their interviews.

Below is a list of the candidates and a short biography.

  • Dr. Corey Austin has been the Superintendent in the Target Range Elementary School District since 2012. He previously served as the Superintendent of the Southeast Fountain School Corporation in Veedersburg, Indiana. Corey has a Bachelor’s Degree in P.E./English from Oakland City University, a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from Oakland City University, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Indiana State University.
  • Les Meyer currently serves as the Superintendent of the Fairfield School District in Fairfield, Montana and has been in that position for eight years. Prior to assuming the role of Superintendent, Les served as Principal for the Fairfield School District for ten years. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in English/Health Enhancement from Rocky Mountain College and a Master’s Degree in Sports Management from St. Cloud State University.
  • Dr. Heather Davis Schmidt has been the Superintendent of the Whitefish School District in Whitefish, Montana, since 2015. She previously served as the Executive Regional Director of the Missoula County Public Schools in Missoula, Montana. Heather has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Colorado College, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Montana and a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Montana.
  • John “Scott” Stiegler has served as the Superintendent/Principal of the Lone Rock Elementary School District since 2017. Prior to joining Lone Rock, he was a classroom teacher and athletic director for the Florence Carlton School District in Florence, Montana. Scott has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Montana and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Rocky Mountain College.

The candidates will meet at the District office beginning at 2 p.m.
