MISSOULA — Arts Missoula is once again holding their First Night Missoula celebration on New Year’s Eve.

The 26th annual event kicks off at 12 p.m. with the Kid’s Hat Parade at Southgate Mall and a Kung Fu Movie Marathon at the Roxy Theater.

Over 25 venues will host over 60 events that run the gamut from live bands to arts and crafts to dance displays.

Also included in the festivities is the popular First Night Spotlight singing contest sponsored by KPAX.

Public Art Coordinator Kirsten Paisley says this year's event once again features something for everyone.

“I think what makes First Night successful is because it is a community event, with 60-plus local artists," she said.

"It’s put on by the community, it’s for the community, and there’s something for absolutely everyone," Paisley added.

First Night buttons can be purchased through the Arts Missoula website, or at a number of businesses around town.
