MISSOULA — Law enforcement is investigating the weekend discovery of human remains in Missoula.
Missoula Police Department spokesman Sgt. Travis Welsh reports that officers were called to the area of Missoula Sewage Treatment Plant at approximately 10:40 a.m. Saturday after an employee who was walking the grounds discovered human remains.
Welsh says that officers arrived and confirmed the remains were human, but no identification was possible. Detectives were called to investigate, and with the assistance of the Missoula County Sheriff’s Department, the remains were recovered and taken to the Montana State Crime Lab for further investigation.
