MISSOULA — The Missoula County Sheriff's Office was approached by A&E to appear on the TV show "Live PD".

The show airs for two hours on Friday and Saturday nights and the Sheriff's Office will be on the upcoming fourth season.

A film crew will ride along with deputies for about nine weeks while they respond to calls. The Missoula County Sheriff's Office is one of nine agencies to be featured this season.

The Sheriff's Office says Montana's scenery and weather conditions represent unique challenges for officers.

Undersheriff Rich Maricelli says he hopes this will be positive marketing for the department-and maybe even draw in new recruits.

"It's just a good opportunity for the community and the public to see what we deal with on a regular basis. And there's so few jurisdictions that get this opportunity to do this. We're super proud and excited," Undersheriff Maricelli told MTN News.

He also says the legal groundwork is covered, just in case they decide the show isn't a good fit for the department. It will start airing on Sept. 20.
