MISSOULA — The Missoula Art Museum (MAM) is gearing up for its big annual fundraiser on Friday evening.

The event, like most other live performance art these days, is going virtual. You can tune on Friday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. to bid on all the artwork on display.

New this year, the MAM is teaming up with the Montana Area Music Association to create an album, highlighting local artists continuing their work through the pandemic.

Funds from the event will go toward helping the museum continue its mission to bring art to the community. Organizers say this is their biggest fundraiser of the year and they're excited to be open and working with artists.

Auctioneer Johnna Wells says she’s excited to be back after almost 10 years of working with the MAM.

"Art is so powerful, and it provides so many opportunities and resources, from youth and children that are experiencing art education programs, to the other end of the age spectrum, where you're taking in the artists that come through with the exhibits, mam is just the gift that keeps on giving, truly, to Missoula and beyond,” Wells said.

You can view the 125 pieces of art up for bid online here. The bidding closes at 8 p.m.
