MISSOULA — Missoula County’s new Election Center is now open at the corner of Russell and Wyoming streets.
County officials feel the new location is ideal as it's along a bike trail and bus line, making it more accessible to the community. The 14,500-square-foot center includes the main office space and a warehouse.
Over the last ten years, the election office staff has moved from their permanent office in the Missoula County Courthouse to the Missoula County Fairgrounds to accommodate increased demand for voter services leading up to elections.
The new location will provide more space for the staff to assist voters in the busy months leading up to the election.
“All elections services will be located here, so if you’re going to file for office, if you have a petition that you are returning to us, if you completed a voter registration drive and you need to bring those registrations in, all election services are located on campus,” Missoula County Elections Administrator Dayna Causby explained.
The new facility will also host trainings for emergency management, law enforcement, and other county staff.
