MISSOULA — The Missoula Food Bank is reaching out to the community in hopes of making a strong final push to their holiday food drive.
This marks the 34th year that the food bank is collecting cash donations and food throughout the month of December.
The food bank's Jessica Allred says the need now is greater than ever before, as they continue to see more community members rely on the food bank.
The goal for the drive is to collect $250,000 and 55,000 pounds of food, but Allred says to this point, they are a little behind where they’d like to be.
“We’re a little bit halfway through the month and we’re a little under halfway to our goals, so a little on both sides," Allred said.
"So, right now our largest needs, our greatest needs are really the generous cash donations that come in from every kind of Missoulian.”
Donations can be dropped off at the Missoula Food Bank which is located at 1720 Wyoming Street.
