MISSOULA — We’re just a few days away from the Missoula Symphony Orchestra’s most popular concert of the year -- the 2019 version of the Holiday Pops.

The Symphony will team up with the Missoula Chorale on Saturday and Sunday for three shows. Retired Great Falls Symphony Conductor Gordon Johnson will be directing the orchestra.

Something new this year is the Missoula Chorale joining the orchestra for the entire performance. But Missoula Symphony Association Executive Director Jo May Salonen says one thing that won’t change is the festive décor and hot cocoa available when you walk in the door.

She says this year’s concert will feature a lot of variety.

“I think the repertoire for this concert is going to be great. We have favorites like Deck The Halls and Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, things like that but we have some really beautiful songs with the chorale, Candlelight Carol, Hanukkah Fiddle Rondo, and Margaret Baldridge will be playing the fiddle on that piece, so it’s an exciting program.”

Tickets are sold out for the Saturday evening and Sunday matinee, but as of Tuesday afternoon, there were still a few seats available for the Sunday 6:30 p.m. performance.
