MISSOULA — A popular Missoula business is now temporarily closed due to the economic strain of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Flying Squirrel Sports Missoula co-owner Luke Schueler told MTN News there's been a dramatic decrease in the number of customers due to COVID-19 restrictions.

He says they're trying to negotiate with their California-based landlord to try to stay in business. He says unfortunately, those negotiations haven't gone well and right now, Flying Squirrel cannot pay the outstanding rent due to the months it had to be closed.

Schueler says they're still going to do whatever they can to re-open to provide an active and healthy activity to Missoula. He does expect this to be an uphill battle and they will be posting updates on their website.
