MISSOULA — The Zootown Arts Community Center (ZACC) is asking artists to send in input for a mural project.
The project has been an idea for a year and the ZACC recently received a grant from the National Endowment of the Arts to help make the mural a reality.
The mural will be designed by four different artists in a Missoula alleyway with a feeling welcome theme.
The ZACC says it's looking for artists who are LGBT, BIPOC, refugees, disabled, or experiencing homelessness.
"So that we can share a representative example of all of the voices that are in Missoula. And some that are not as heard as others when it comes to city planning and creating art in our downtown," said ZACC Executive Director Kia Liszak.
Liszak said proposals will be accepted until the end of June, selections will be made in July, and the murals should be completed by August.
