A Missoula resident is dead after an accident involving his motorcycle Saturday evening.

Montana Highway Patrol reports that a 35-year-old male driving a Kawasaki motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Frenchtown Frontage Road around 10 p.m. on Saturday. The motorcyclist attempted to turn northbound onto Houle Creek Road when he collided with a 2003 Honda Pilot.

The Pilot was driven by a 22-year-old male from Alberton with two additional passengers from Seeley Lake. Both the driver and passengers in the Honda Pilot left the scene uninjured, but the motorcyclist was pronounced dead on scene.

According to MHP, alcohol is suspected to have played a role in Saturday’s incident.

The crash brings Montana’s 2020 fatality count due to vehicle accidents to 112.
