MISSOULA — The Museum of Mountain Flying in Missoula is asking for the community’s help as part of their Red Sleighs Over Montana toy distribution event.

Organizers are requesting that all those who are able to drop off new, unwrapped toys and gifts for kids ages three through 12 before Saturday afternoon at their Missoula International Airport location.

Early next week, a group of volunteers will fly those donations to children in need in towns across western Montana.

Museum of Mountain Flying President Eric Komberec says he knows it’s been a difficult year for so many, and he wants to let those struggling to know that they’re not forgotten.

“Hopefully, influence some young children that maybe need a little bit of help this winter," he told MTN News. "There are families that are struggling with everyone being out of work just to let them know that the community hasn’t forgot about them, we’re here for them and maybe plant a little aviation bug in the back of their minds.”

The Museum of Mountain Flying will be open from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 19, and are offering free admission to all who bring gift donations during these hours.
