MISSOULA — Providence Montana is offering a new location in Missoula for screening mammograms.
The Western Montana Clinic at Southgate Mall is now able to see women during normal business hours from Tuesday through Friday thanks to a new 3-D screening mammography machine.
Those wanting a screening can schedule an appointment, but walk-ins are also welcome.
Director of Diagnostic Imaging Joni Larson says thanks to the larger new mall location, women have another option to be screened for breast cancer.
“We really wanted to bring another service area to women in our community allowing an opportunity for women who are doing their walking have in the mall, being able to stop in -- walk-in appointments -- so they don’t have to make an appointment, they can just walk in at any time for their mammogram,” Larson said.
Larson also wants to remind everyone that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and that a screening mammogram is the best way to detect breast cancer early.
The mammography team is able to see women from 9 a.m. – 7:30 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. Walk-ins are welcome or appointments can be scheduled by calling (406) 329-5757. No referral is needed for screening mammograms.
