MISSOULA — The brand new school year brings new living options for students attending the University of Montana.
Sawyer Student Living -- which is located in the Old Sawmill District -- has been designed to create a convenient next step for students after living in the dorms. The units have some familiar things that you could find on campus with a layout that includes common areas, washer/dryer, and a fitness area.
The project has been in the works for a few years, and opened up for move in earlier this month. Property Manager Catie Peissig says she hopes the apartments will draw new people to the area.
"I think that it's going to be great for Missoula overall to have this option -- and to be able to have an individual lease, to have yourself to worry about. We ll find roommates, we ll take care of a lot of that, and so, if nothing else it just diversifies the housing options available in town," Peissig told MTN News.
Peissig says feedback has been positive so far. There are rooms available and she encourages anyone who's skeptical to take a tour.
