MISSOULA — The Missoula Police Department reports there was an officer-involved shooting on Saturday evening.
MPD responded to the 2300 block of Sherwood Lane at approximately 5:25 p.m. for a report of a disturbance, according to a press release.
The release says officers were confronted by a man armed with a knife, who did not comply with commands to drop the knife.
MPD said the man attacked the initial responding officer. The officer shot the man, who was later pronounced dead.
The Montana Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigations is conducting the investigation.
No one else was injured in the incident.
