MISSOULA — The Missoula City Council will hold a public hearing on a proposal to ban the sale of flavored tobacco on Monday evening.
The proposed ban includes mentholated cigarettes, flavored cigars and smokeless tobacco.
The ordinance would make it a violation to display and sell flavored tobacco at retail shops within the city, along with locations five miles outside city limits.
A violation would be directed to Missoula Municipal Court and net a possible fine up to $500.
The public hearing is set to begin at 6 p.m. and the council is expected to vote on the measure next Monday.
Meeting information can be found on the Missoula City Council website.
