MISSOULA — A Missoula community center is helping to provide warm clothes to those in need.

The Western Montana LGBTQ Community Center has spent the month of December collecting coats, hats, and socks.

Volunteers for the center host events at Imagination Brewing once a month, called queers and beers.

During Sunday's event, the month long clothing drive finished with a bang.

The items will be donated to the Poverello Center in January.

Center Chairperson Eric Hall said this is the center's first time doing a charity drive like this one.

"Some of the folks at the center wanted to actually give back to our larger community this year, especially since winter can be a very difficult time," he said.

'Especially if your housing situation isn't ideal. We figured, let's get together and have a little warm giving drive," Hall added.

Hall says you can still donate warm clothes to the Poverllo Center once the drive is done.
