GREAT FALLS – Montana firefighters are hoping this is the year firefighters will get the coverage they need to protect those that get on the job illnesses.
The Montana State Council of Professional Firefightersannounced Sen. Nate McConnell (D-Missoula) introduced the health and safety bill on Monday.
The organization has been working for almost two decades to pass a law that will protect firefighters from on the job illnesses.
The Montana State Council of Professional Firefighters is hoping they will join 47 other states who have protection for there firefighters in place.
Senate Bill 160 will soon be assigned to a Montana Senate subcommittee.
