17 Montana cities receive infrastructure grants

17 cities in Montana have received grants to plan vital infrastructure projects.

The Montana Department of Commerce announced more than $249,000 from the Treasure State Endowment Program will go towards planned projects around the state.

Montana Department of Commerce director, Tara Rice, said in a statement "With these TSEP grants, communities can initiate crucial infrastructure projects that will provide clean drinking water and durable bridges for Montana towns, helping them to grow and prosper for many years to come,"

Some of the communities receiving the grants are East Helena, Chouteau county, Big Timber, and Custer county.

The 17 communities are:

  • City of Big Timber: $15,000 to complete a water system Preliminary Engineering Report
  • Chouteau County: $15,000 to complete a bridge system Preliminary Engineering Report
  • Town of Circle: $15,000 to complete a water system Preliminary Engineering Report
  • City of Conrad: $15,000 to complete a storm water system Preliminary Engineering Report
  • Custer County: $15,000 to complete a bridge system Preliminary Engineering Report
  • City of East Helena: $15,000 to complete a wastewater system Preliminary Engineering Report
  • Town of Ekalaka: $10,000 to complete a water system Preliminary Engineering Report
  • Town of Fairview: $15,000 to complete a water system Preliminary Engineering Report
  • Town of Hobson: $15,000 to complete a wastewater system Preliminary Engineering Report
  • Town of Joliet: $15,000 to complete a water system Preliminary Engineering Report
  • Madison County: $15,000 to complete a bridge system Preliminary Engineering Report
  • Powder River County: $15,000 to complete a bridge system Preliminary Engineering Report
  • Powell County: $15,000 to complete a bridge system Preliminary Engineering Report
  • City of Red Lodge: $15,000 to complete a water system Preliminary Engineering Report
  • City of Roundup: $15,000 to complete a water system Preliminary Engineering Report
  • City of Shelby: $14,500 to complete a water system Preliminary Engineering Report
  • Town of Whitehall: $15,000 to complete a water system Preliminary Engineering Report
