BILLINGS- The sudden plunge in oil prices this week should soon translate into savings at the gas pump, analysts say.

Online gas tracker GasBuddy.com reported Tuesday that over the past month, the national average pump price has dropped 24 cents a gallon, and the experts believe there’s more to come.

Most states will see a decline in pump prices of at least five to 15¢ a gallon ahead of Thanksgiving.

Petroleum analyst Patrick DeHaan suggested motorists need not be in a hurry.  His advice is shop around for the lowest price, as some stations will pass on savings faster than others.

The average gas price in Montana was $2.92 per gallon on Wednesday. Missoula’s average was sitting at $2.96 per gallon as compared to $2.61 per gallon one year ago, according to AAA.
