BUTTE – The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation and Montana Resources have started a scholarship program to help students pay tuition to Butte’s Catholic schools.

The foundation will give $25,000 in assistance each year for the next 10 years to help parents with tuition costs to enroll their children in Butte Central’s elementary, middle and high schools.

“You know, one of the goals in our school system now is to make our schools affordable and help our families attend our schools, so we’re just grateful and it’s going to be a great asset to us we strive to make our schools available to all families in our community,” said Don Peoples Jr., President of Butte Central Catholic Schools.
