BIG SKY, Mont. – A 9-year-old boy died while skiing on Tuesday, Feb. 19, according to a press release from the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office.
The boy’s father reported him missing at 2:51 near the junction of Middle Road and Lobo Ski Run at Big Sky Ski Resort. A short time later the boy was found dead in a tree well. He reportedly died due to blunt force injuries caused by hitting a tree on a steep slope.
The boy and his family were from Carlisle, Mass.
No other details were provided by officials.
